A delegation of 20 women entrepreneurs representing the Nepal Women Chamber of Commerce recently participated in the Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE). The event, held in Kuala Lumpur, served as a platform to explore business opportunities, connect with international buyers, and promote Nepal-made products on a global stage.

During the showcase, each delegate actively engaged in business matchmaking sessions, meeting with approximately 14 Malaysian companies. These interactions were aimed at sourcing quality products from Malaysia and identifying potential areas for collaboration, import-export partnerships, and knowledge exchange.

The visit was further highlighted by an official trip to the Embassy of Nepal in Malaysia. His Excellency Dr. Netra Prasad Timsina warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed strong support for Nepalese entrepreneurs. In a gesture to promote Nepalese goods, the Embassy has arranged a permanent display of selected Nepal-made products within its premises. Dr. Timsina praised the initiative and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to supporting Nepali businesses seeking to expand in the international market.

The participation in MIHAS marks a significant step for Nepalese women entrepreneurs in expanding their global footprint, fostering trade ties, and showcasing the diverse capabilities of Nepal’s small and medium enterprises.
